So what do the departing employees at Eli Lilly get? With 5,500 positions getting chopped by the end of next year, that could add up to a lot of toasters.
Of course, they are eligible for some cash, too.

Workers whose position are being eliminated are put on "reallocation status." That means they have three months to try to find another job at Lilly, so they're essentially in limbo for 12 long weeks.
And good luck trying to find another job inside Lilly, with thousands of jobs being chopped.
