Published in the journal of Psychological Medicine these new findings are based on a review of the effects of antipsychotic drugs on the brain. The findings published earlier this year, have raised alarm among race equality and human rights groups who are increasingly concerned about the over-diagnosis of 'schizophrenia' among people from African Caribbean people communities.

The aim of our work is to see a reduction in the inequalities in the treatment and care of people from African Caribbean communities who use mental health services, and to inform these communities on how to influence the strategic development, policy design and implementation of services.
The fact that a psychiatry watchdog group has been founded to battle the racism created by the "mental health care industry" speaks VOLUMES.
And lets remember this, African Caribbeans WOULDN'T BE THE FIRST GROUP DISCRIMINATED AGAINST by the psychiatric community.
And unfortunately they won't be the last either.
