“In a bizarre turn of events, it’s become politically incorrect to spank your child, but it’s OK to drug him.”
While true, I wouldn't characterize a planned, deliberate, formulated, R&D-ed, cost-benefit analyzed, manufactured, promoted, advertised, and popularized scheme to make money on the backs of children, as a "bizarre turns of events".
Its more like an attack.
