The "chemical straight-jacket" is common in facilities where owner/operators will contract with pharma companies to provide sample drugs to "patients" under the blanket medication release forms these institutions are required to obtain from family members or the resident themselves.
It amounts to coerced experimentation.

Almost a fifth of older people in Scotland who have dementia are being given anti-psychotic and psychotropic drugs, research has shown.
There is also a stat, the percentage of which I can't recall, which states that a significant "percentage of those elderly given anti-psychotic medication DIE within a year" of beginning this regimen.
