Two years ago, officials promised young patients in psychiatric hospitals would be protected from sexual abuse.

But the Chicago Tribune reported Wednesday morning that there had been at least 18 cases of reported rape or sexual abuse at some of the city's most prominent facilities.

Five of the 18 cases the Tribune uncovered were reported as rapes, and nine were reported as sexual abuse or molestation. But the remaining four cases involved sex that authorities deemed "consensual" even though the patients involved were as young as 12 years old, the Tribune reported.

Quite often, in many cases, a child removed from parental care is held for assessment in a facility.

SO, evidently psychiatrist's are able to spot a parent incapable of providing care for their children but are UNABLE to provide care for the same children themselves.

If I was a parent of one of these children I'd be calling 1-800-the law2
