About 3 weeks ago, Metropolitan State Hospital in Norwalk CA was exposed for having an unusual number of: assaults by patients, assaults by staff, assaults of staff, sexual assaults, injuries received by patients which garnered no or inadequate emergency care, loss of patients medications records, loss of patients, un accounted for patients ALL of which resulted in DEATHS OF PATIENTS while under the "care: Metro.
Around the same time, an as yet UN-named "citizens task force" called for the broadening of authority of mental-hospitals to lengthen HOLDS on patients, both self committed AND state committed claiming that the burden of providing emergency care of mental patients was to heavy and so they should be held indefinitely in facilities such as Metropolitan and Napa State Hosp.
HMMM... is seems as though patients at Metro are finding it difficult to find ANY "mental-health care" at Metro. IF by "mental-health care" you mean BREATHING.
